The return of Vinyl

2021

In 2021, as the global resurgence of vinyl records continued, Pozzoli responded to market demand by re-installing a dedicated vinyl pressing line at our Inzago facility. Integrating pressing capabilities with Pozzoli’s long-standing expertise in premium packaging for vinyl allows us to manage every step of production in-house — from packaging design and print to the final pressed record. The result is a true 360° solution for record releases that require the highest standards of quality, reliability and brand consistency.

Vinyl’s comeback — why it matters for brands

Vinyl is no longer a niche format: collectors, audiophiles and major labels are investing in premium physical releases that deliver both sound quality and collectible packaging. For rights holders and brands this trend means a growing need for trusted partners able to guarantee consistent audio replication, bespoke packaging finishes, tight quality control and reliable manufacturing timelines. Pozzoli’s in-house pressing capability answers that need by removing fragmentation from the supply chain and consolidating responsibility under one production partner.

Pozzoli’s Vinyl Pressing Plant in Italy — what we offer

Located in Inzago, our plant is equipped to press classic black vinyl and a wide range of specialty pressings — including colored, marble, glitter and splatter vinyl — with ISCC-certified bio-vinyl available on request. We press standard formats (12” — 140gsm and 180gsm; 7” — 40gsm, small or large hole) and supply full packaging options (poly-lined or printed inner sleeves, spined sleeves, gatefolds and premium finishes). Because pressing and packaging are coordinated in the same facility, we ensure alignment between artwork, print color management and the physical record for a flawless finished product.

A complete, single-partner production workflow

Pozzoli supplies a white-glove service tailored to major brands and professional labels, covering:

  • Pre-press consultation and artwork validation (print-ready PDFs with bleed)
  • Mastering support and test pressing coordination (Test Pressings available on request; typical TP turnaround 2–3 weeks; MOQ for TP normally 500 units)
  • Pressing and finishing (standard MOQs from 100 units for plain vinyl; specialty colours/finishes handled case-by-case)
  • Assembly, quality inspection and bespoke packaging (from single jackets to luxury gatefold editions)
  • Logistics and final delivery

This end-to-end model reduces lead times, simplifies project management and provides single-point accountability for quality and delivery.

Production timelines & minimums (planning guidance)

While specific schedules depend on project complexity, a reliable planning window for a standard vinyl release is approximately 4–5 weeks — covering mastering/lacquer or DMM choices, stamper production, pressing, labeling and packaging assembly. Test pressings and specialty runs may alter this timeline; we recommend discussing the exact specification early in the planning phase to meet release dates.

Specialty options: color, textures and sustainability

Pozzoli supports creative, collectible record formats — from classic black to multi-color and splatter effects — and offers ISCC-certified BioVinyl for clients prioritizing sustainability. These specialty options are ideal for limited editions and premium campaigns: they increase shelf appeal and help storytelling while meeting technical and regulatory standards.
